Congratulations to our very own Pat O’brien (U11 Boys – Firehawks) - - Winner of Liberty Mutual’s Responsible Coaching Award!

Responsible Sports™ is a community outreach initiative from Liberty Mutual, based on the central theme of our Responsibility campaign. This campaign celebrates the countless acts of responsibility shown by people in their everyday lives and encourages all people to take personal ownership in ensuring positive outcomes in life. The overarching goal of the Responsible Sports program is to ensure that our kids experience the best that sports have to offer in environments that promote and display responsibility in action.

Liberty Mutual is proud to support the men and women who everyday volunteer their time to coach youth sports. We recognize that these coaches are an integral part of the fabric of our communities, instilling in our children the lessons learned from sports both on and off the field.

"A special congratulations to Lindsey Carstens (pictured above) for being named the 'Big Ten Player of the Week'. http://fightingillini.cstv.com/sports/w-soccer/ill-w-soccer-body.html Lindsey, a captain with the University of Illinois, is a Lakota United/CUP product. We are proud of Lindsey's accomplishments on and off the field - - as we are proud of the scores of former Lakota United kids currently playing college soccer in conferences such as the Beg Ten, Big East, SEC, A-10, and MAC.

The LUSC U14 Girls' CUP team, coached by Neil Bradford and Joe Hackney, defeat 2007 Region II finalist, Cleveland Internationals in a well earned 2-1 victory in the Midwest Regional League! "It was a total team effort and the defense really stepped it up to secure the win, " commented Joe. Battling injury and adversity, the girls have been playing really great soccer against top notch teams and finally got what they deserved. Goal scorers were Rosie Lavelle and Maggie Hare. They plan to make the most of the momentum and finish the season strong. (Pictured above is Maggie Hare hitting the game-winning penalty kick late in the second half)

"Lakota United is proud to announce a new member of the 'Juggling Masters Club'. Rianna Reese (10 years old) juggled 158 times last week (feet only). Rianna currently plays for the U11 Courage Black girls. Rianna will wear the red and white arm band for games - - the Juggling Masters symbol of excellence. Congratulations Rianna, we are proud of you!"
