Lakota Sports Organization offers flag football in the fall for boys and
girls ages five through seventeen. Boys and girls can both participate as
teams are co-ed. The goals of the LSO flag football program are for the
players, coaches and parents to have fun with the game, learn the basic
rules and skills of the game and to be good sports. Starting in the fall of
2009, Lakota Sports Organization is proud to affiliate ourselves with NFL
FLAG.
NFL FLAG
is the premier youth football league which provides young players a fun and
exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact, continuous action while
learning lessons in teamwork.
Launched in 1996, the NFL FLAG Football program is designed to educate young
people about football while emphasizing participation and sportsmanship.
Players learn skills and lessons that help them succeed both on and off the
field.
NFL FLAG gives youngsters the
chance to be an official NFL player!
Games are played
on Saturday afternoons. The 2009 season is scheduled to start with
practice starting the first week of September; the first game on
Sept 12 and runs eight weeks until the end of October, possibly one
more weekend if we have a cancellation due to severe weather. Each
coach for Flag Football will determine the practice day and time for
their team, so we won't know that until we get all the registrations
and volunteer coaches set. Usually (but not guaranteed) practice is
once a week, Monday through Thursday around 5:30pm or 6:00pm.
