Spectator's Guide to NFL Flag Football

The game is played with 5 players from each team on the field. The offense (team with the ball) tries to move the ball down the field to score a touchdown. The defense can stop an offensive player with the ball by "Flagging" them (pulling the Flag that is wrapped around the player's waist).The ball is then placed at that position and the offense continues with their next play.

NFL Flag Football

NFL Flag Football is offered during the Spring & Fall seasons for boys and girls ages 5 through 17. Boys and girls participate together on co-ed teams.

Age Divisions: 5 yrs; 6-7 yrs; 8-9 yrs; 10-11 yrs; 12-17 yrs (age divisions may be merged if not enough players) Age is as of Sept 1st

Registration is usually Nov-Feb for Spring and May to July for Fall ; Players are contacted three weeks before the first game to start practice.

2010FlagFootball6 The season is 8 weeks long. Games are played Saturday afternoons. Individual coaches will determine the practice day and time for their team. Typically practice is once a week, Monday through Thursday starting around 5:30pm or 6:00pm.

Games have been played at Liberty Jr School or Liberty Park fields, but may be moved depending on field availability each season.

Equipment: Each player will recieve an official NFL Flag jersey to keep ! These are high quality reversible jerseys with an actual NFL team logo on it. Cleats are highly recommended. All game equipment including balls, flag belts and markers will be provided.

NFL FLAG is the premier youth football league that provides young players a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact, continuous action while learning lessons in teamwork.

The goals of the LSO Flag Football program are for the players, coaches and parents to have fun with the game, learn the basic rules and skills of the game and to be good sports.
