LSO Development: Programs  [Updated 01/07/2007 ]
While a final program framework has not been approved, below are the two general “pillars” of potential programs. The items in the brackets following the names are the main group being focused on.
Endowment Program: (Our organization) We have been very fortunate over our 26 year history to have the support of local businesses, however a formal program remained to be developed guaranteeing our future. The need to attract larger business partners to our organization and elevate our resources to the needs of the fast growing community still remained. This opportunity to sponsor programs, clinics, and web resources will require a more systematic "Endowment Program" to work with local foundations, grant writers, and corporate donation programs. This program would compliment the current team sponsorship program and general fundraising we do and would be focused on attracting larger sources of funding above $2,500 per year.
Coaching Advancement Program: (Coaches) While most state youth sports programs offer certificates and training, the need for providing a “best practices program” for LSO coaches and a system that will help parents better understand what qualifications and qualities their coaches have. This program will also allow a more uniform approach to educating, documenting, and developing coaching staffs and support for all sports. General program designations being volunteer, assistant coach, coach, mentor, program director and coaching director.
